Brasil

Lusitanos. Portuguese sung, not spoken. Warmth. Red clay and miles of sugar cane, undeveloped beaches and towns long forgotten though once important. My Brasil is rural Brasil. Where the rhythm of life follows the rhythm of harvest, the needs of livestock and the change of the seasons.

I’ve included assignment, commission and magazine work in this gallery, along with images of friends and favorite spots. It all comes under the heading of ‘experience’. I think this is the best thing about photography. To make an image that has something to say you must immerse yourself in the experience. Our lives are richer for our seeking and we understand the feeling of gratitude for the moments we are given.
